Art Chennai will represent the best of modern and contemporary art and will provide a unique opportunity for art to be received by a large and discerning art audience. The Ensemble is a 7 day event from the 20th of March till the 26th of March and will be hosted with Chennai's finest hospitality "The Taj Group of Hotels". The top 22 Art Galleries will open 27 art shows out of which some the special shows are 150 years of Rabindranath Tagore, 100 year of KCS Panikar, AP Santanaraj and MF Hussain.
There will be 27 recognized artists participating for the art residency and they shall be painting live at the 3 Taj Hotels across the city. There will be around 20 scattered openings in various venues such as independent art galleries and Taj Hotels, each opening hosted will cater to a niche audience explaining various values of Art and also to Sponsor nominated subjects. There will seminars addressed by art collectors/ historians/ curators/ critics and will be on topics such as collectors corner/ the art critic/ the curatorial eye/ the art market and artist in conversation.
There will also be a special Video lounge which will feature works of 30 artists. The Art Chennai will also feature newly launched solo projects exhibiting a range of paintings, sculptures, photography, mix media, prints, caricatures, video installations and drawings. The ART CHENNAI will offer visitors from around the world a rich and fulfilling art experience each year every year.
